"NPAS has confirmed that 10 of its bases across the country will close. One of these include Wattisham. meaning that Boreham, near Chelmsford, will become Suffolk’s nearest base."

The Police Air Service will operate out of 15 bases in the future. Four helicopters will be cut from the fleet and four fixed wing aircraft will be introduced. The fixed wing aircraft will be based at East Midlands Airport. These cuts are part of a 14% reduction in its budget over the next three years.
